Tawkify is a human matchmaking company. A matchmaker interviews you, searches on your behalf, and arranges meetings, usually without either person seeing a photo first. There are two ways to be in it and they are very different. As a free or low-cost member you sit in a pool and may never be picked. As a paying client you buy a package: entry packages run into several thousand dollars for three to six introductions, which is roughly a thousand or more per person you meet, and the premium end runs far higher.
Notapub does the searching part with no matchmaker and no package. You say what you want, in a sentence. People who fit it reach you, and there is no number attached to how many.
This is not a pub. Ages 13+.
This is the comparison, so it is worth being exact. A Tawkify client package is priced in the low thousands and delivers a handful of introductions. Reviews describe a pace of roughly one a month. Notapub is free and puts no ceiling on how many people you are put in front of.
The money matters less than what the money forces. When each introduction costs a thousand dollars to produce, it has to be a serious candidate, which means fewer of them, chosen conservatively, over months. When it costs nothing, the borderline person still gets shown to you, and the borderline person is often the one you would never have thought to ask for.
The recurring complaint about Tawkify is structural rather than a service lapse: paying clients get introduced to people from the free pool. If you paid, your introductions may be people who paid nothing and are not actively looking. If you are in the free pool, you may wait indefinitely and then be contacted about someone you would not have chosen.
Notapub has one class of person. Nobody is a lead for anyone else, nobody is boosted for paying, and there is no pool you sit in waiting to be selected out of. What you wrote is visible and reachable, which is a different relationship to the system than being inventory in it.
Tawkify deliberately withholds photos and much of the detail before a meeting. The reasoning is real: appearance dominates a first impression, and withholding it makes people give someone a chance.
The cost is that you learn whether your brief was understood only by turning up. That is where the sharpest criticism lands, people describing stated dealbreakers being ignored with no way to know until the evening itself. On Notapub you see the person and the specific thing of yours they answer before anything happens. If it is wrong you can tell in a second, and correcting it means editing your sentence rather than escalating with an account manager.
A matchmaker's search is one person doing work in the gaps of their week across a roster of clients. That is why the pace is what it is.
Notapub searches continuously and returns the first results in under a second. Where an ask needs more than that, you can talk it through out loud and narrow it while you speak, which is what a matchmaker's intake call is for, without the package that has to follow it.
Tawkify does one thing. Notapub does not sort your reasons: the same sentence finds a cofounder, a sublet, a person who has done the treatment you are starting, someone to sail with. Several unrelated asks give back several unrelated kinds of person, and where one of them matters more, that is yours and the app does not name it.
It is free and it does the searching part. There is no matchmaker, nobody arranges anything for you, and no package to buy.
There is no quota. Whoever fits what you said can reach you, and you can reach them.
Yes, along with the specific line of yours they answer, before you decide to do anything.
